As per the latest AISHE 2018-19, it came out that the gender gap was highest in Bihar in terms of teaching staff. The report said that there were a total of 14,16,299 teachers in Higher-Ed and ratio of male-female in Bihar was as poor as 4:1.
The numbers and situation that comes close to the Bihar were the states of Uttrakhand and UP. As per the report, Jharkhand has the ratio of 70:30 and UP has less than one-third as female teachers.
On the other hand, there were few other states such as Kerala, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Goa where the number of female teachers in Higher Ed were reported to be more than the male.
