The Xavier School of Management (XLRI) has announced the XAT 2025 cutoffs. It has reduced overall cutoff thresholds for women and underprivileged candidates in its Business Management (BM) and Human Resource Management (HRM) programs. This move promotes gender diversity and ensures equitable opportunities for women in leadership roles within Indian business and management. The Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) 2025 results came out on January 17.
For the PGDM (GM) program, three interview rounds based on GMAT scores have already been conducted, with the fourth round scheduled for February. In the Business Management program, male candidates must achieve an overall cutoff of 96 percentile, while women candidates have a slightly lower cutoff at 91 percentile.
In the Human Resource Management program, male candidates from engineering and technology backgrounds need a 95 percentile overall, while non-engineering male applicants have a cutoff set at 93 percentile.
For the 2025–2026 admissions cycle, XLRI plans to interview approximately 4,000–4,500 candidates.
XLRI will finalize cutoffs for specialized programs like Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Venture Development (IEV) and the Double Master’s Program with Rutgers University later. These will align with specific program requirements to ensure the admissions criteria match their unique objectives.
Several factors influence XAT cutoffs at XLRI. The number of candidates appearing each year impacts competition levels, as a higher applicant pool often raises cutoffs. The difficulty level of the XAT exam also plays a role, with tougher question papers potentially requiring lower raw scores for the same percentiles. Additionally, the number of available seats in each program significantly affects selectivity, with programs offering fewer seats generally having higher cutoffs.
