The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), the statutory body under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs), Government of India has invited all the eligible candidates for Group A, B and C vacancies by Direct Recruitment at BIS Headquarters, New Delhi and BIS Offices located in the country.
The online application process to fill 171 vacancies has started and the last date to apply for the same is September 26.

Education qualification
Assistant Director (Administration) for Legal: Degree in law from a recognised university/ Bachelor of law; and three years’ experience in the relevant field in Central/ State/Union Territory Government or Statutory/ Autonomous Body/Public Sector Undertaking/reputed Government agency.
Assistant Section Officer: Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or equivalent; and Computer Proficiency Test: The candidate should be proficient at least up to Level-6 of National Skill Qualification Framework. The test shall be qualifying in nature; and qualifying skill test in computer proficiency.
Personal Assistant: Degree from a recognised university; (b) Computer Proficiency Test: The candidate should be proficient at least up to Level-6 of National Skill Qualification Framework. The test shall be qualifying in nature; and Shorthand test in English or Hindi comprising dictation test at hundred words per minute for seven minutes.
Library Assistant: Graduate with recognised Diploma in Library Science with three years’ experience.
Stenographer: Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university; (ii) Computer Proficiency Test and Shorthand Test.
Senior Secretariat Assistant: (i) Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university; and (ii) Qualifying Skill Test in Computer Proficiency consisting of: (a) Word Processing Test – 2000 Key Depressions in fifteen minutes; (b) Test in Spread Sheets on Microsoft Excel – fifteen minutes; and (c) Test in PowerPoint (Microsoft PowerPoint) – fifteen minutes.

- Group A Post: Level – 10 (Rs 56,100 – 1,77,500)
- Group B Post: Level – 6 (Rs 35,400 – 1,12,400)
Group C Post:
- Library Assistant: Level – 5 (Rs 29,200 – 92,300)
- Stenographer: Level – 4 (Rs 25,500 – 81,100)
- Senior Secretariat Assistant: Level – 4 (Rs 25,500 – 81,100)
