The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced an extension of the application deadline for fresh admissions for the July 2024 academic year. Students now have until October 15, 2024, to register for online distance learning (ODL) and online programmes. This extension provides an additional fortnight for those wishing to enrol, as the original deadline was set for September 30.
The extension applies to all ODL and online programmes, with the exception of semester-based and certificate courses offered by the university. Students interested in exploring the available programmes can visit IGNOU’s official website at iop.ignouonline.ac.in.
In a recent social media update, IGNOU stated: “Extension of last date for July, 2024 Fresh Admission till 15th October, 2024 in respect of all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode for July, 2024 session (except for Semester based & Certificate programmes).”
How to Apply for IGNOU Fresh Admissions
Eligible students can follow these steps to complete their registration:
1. Visit the official IGNOU website at ignou.ac.in.
2. Click on the ‘Register Online’ tab, followed by ‘Fresh Admissions’.
3. Select the ‘New Registrations’ tab.
4. Fill in all required registration details.
5. Create a username and password.
6. Complete the additional required information and submit the form.
7. Use the login credentials sent to your email and phone number to access the application portal.
8. Choose your desired programme.
9. Submit the registration form.
