Western Sydney University has opened applications for its prestigious Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships for the year 2025. Aimed at top-performing international students, the scholarship offers substantial financial assistance, helping them pursue their undergraduate degrees at the university.
Scholarship Overview and Benefits
The Vice-Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship covers 50% of tuition fees per session for up to three years or 240 credit points, whichever comes first. This merit-based scholarship is available for all CRICOS-registered undergraduate programmes, with the exception of the Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Nursing, and Bachelor of Physiotherapy. However, students applying through the International College or College pathways are not eligible for this scholarship.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scholarship, applicants must meet several key requirements:

* Begin a new undergraduate programme in 2025 at Western Sydney University
* Have received an offer of admission from the university
* Achieve a minimum ATAR of 90 or an equivalent in their higher secondary education
* Fulfil all other admission requirements and accept their offer within the given deadline
Notably, no separate application is required for the scholarship. All eligible applicants are automatically considered upon submission of their coursework application. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to provide a statement detailing how the scholarship would assist their academic and career aspirations.
Scholarship Terms and Conditions
While the scholarship covers only tuition fees, it does not extend to living expenses, accommodation, transport, overseas student health cover, or other study-related costs. Additionally, the scholarship will be revoked if the recipient’s visa status changes to that of an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident during their course of study.
To retain the scholarship, recipients must maintain a full-time study load of 40 credit points per semester. Any changes to enrolment, such as course changes or leave of absence, require prior approval.
