The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially opened the registration process for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026. Eligible candidates seeking admission to undergraduate programmes can submit their applications through the official website, cuet.nta.nic.in.
The CUET UG 2026 registration window will remain open until January 30, while the last date to pay the application fee is January 31, 2026.
The CUET UG 2026 will be conducted in computer-based mode. Each test paper will have a duration of 60 minutes and exams will be held in multiple shifts, depending on the number of candidates and subject combinations. Candidates can select up to five subjects, including languages and the General Aptitude Test. The application fee will vary based on the number of subjects chosen.
As per the marking scheme, candidates will receive five marks for every correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.
For up to three subjects, candidates from the General category will need to pay Rs 1,000, while OBC (NCL) and EWS candidates will be charged Rs 900.
The fee for SC, ST, PwD, PwBD and third-gender candidates is Rs 800. Applicants choosing centres outside India will be required to pay Rs 4,500. Additional subject papers will attract extra charges as prescribed by NTA.
SYLLABUS AND TEST STRUCTURE
The CUET UG 2026 syllabus includes reading comprehension based on factual, literary and narrative passages, along with vocabulary and literary aptitude. Domain-specific subjects will be based on the NCERT syllabus.
The General Aptitude Test will cover general knowledge, current affairs, numerical ability, basic mathematics, logical reasoning, analytical skills and general mental ability.
A total of 37 subjects are offered under CUET UG 2026, including 23 domain subjects and 13 languages. Candidates can download the detailed syllabus PDF from the official website.
STEPS TO APPLY FOR CUET UG 2026
To apply, candidates must visit cuet.nta.nic.in and complete the registration by entering basic details.
After receiving login credentials, applicants can fill in the application form, upload scanned copies of their photograph and signature in the prescribed format, and pay the fee online.
Candidates are advised to download and keep a copy of the submitted application form for future reference.

CUET UG is conducted to provide a single-window admission platform for undergraduate courses, ensuring equal opportunities for students across the country, particularly those from rural and remote regions. This year, 33 state universities will also admit students through CUET UG 2026 counselling.
