The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IIT Gandhinagar) has invited applications for its Summer Research Internship Programme (SRIP) 2026. The programme is open to undergraduate and master’s students from recognised institutions across India. Interested candidates can apply through the official IIT Gandhinagar website.
According to IIT Gandhinagar, the Summer Research Internship Programme is a flagship initiative aimed at bringing motivated students to the campus for hands-on exposure to cutting-edge research projects under the mentorship of IITGN faculty members. Selected interns will gain access to the institute’s state-of-the-art laboratories and research facilities.
Eligibility And Application Deadline
Students currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognised university are eligible to apply. The last date for submitting applications is March 5, 2026.
Duration Of Internship
The internship will be conducted in person and will run for a minimum duration of eight weeks during the IIT Gandhinagar summer break.
Programme Requirements
- Interns must work under the supervision of an IIT Gandhinagar faculty member.
- Applicants are advised to review the list of participating faculty members and project descriptions before submitting their applications.
- Students may apply based on their individual interests and prior experience, and are permitted to apply for projects outside their declared academic specialisation.
- At the end of the internship period, selected candidates will be required to submit a final report and deliver a presentation at the institute.
Stipend And Accommodation
Student interns will receive a weekly stipend of Rs 2,000 upon successful completion of the internship. However, the stipend amount may vary for projects that are directly funded by faculty members.
Hostel accommodation will be provided to all summer interns. Students will be required to pay the applicable hostel charges.
