With a lot of anticipation circulating the Delhi University admission, the university has decided not to have a single cutoff list for the BA programme. The decision was made as part of the meeting held on Thursday by the University’s standing committee of the Academic Council. The university plans to introduce different cutoffs for the different combination subjects to limit the students from shifting from weaker disciplines.
As per the DU admission procedure followed, the admissions were taken to a general BA programme, candidates were then able to choose the combinations offered by the respective colleges. This year, however, the university has decided to introduce separate cutoffs for individual courses such as political science and Economic.
Delhi University Academic Council Standing Committee Member Rasal Singh has also pointed out that the students will have a chance to change to a different programme. He explains that if a student wishes to change from one subject to another, he/she will have to cancel the admission in the course selected earlier and meet the individual cutoff set for the course they wish to change into.
Delhi University is set to start the admission process for the academic year 2019-20 by May 27, 2019. With the NTA roped in to conduct the admission test for the different programmes a clear picture about the admission process will be available only after the admission notification is released by the university.
