The founder and chancellor of VIT, Dr G Vishwanathan has decided to offer scholarships to students hailing from non-engineering backgrounds, pursuing careers in B.Com, B.A, BBA, Law and B.Sc. He has decided, VIT will offer the Rajeswari Ammal Merit Scholarship and GV Merit Scholarship to students of the above field from the session commencing from 2022-2023.
The Rajeswari Ammal Merit Scholarship will be applicable for district toppers across the country. The district toppers will receive a 50 per cent funding on their tuition fee for the entirety of their UG Programmes. Girl district toppers will get an additional 25 per cent funding for their entire duration of their courses.
The VC of VIT AP, Dr S P Kota Reddy stated that board toppers of any board from the country would be eligible for the GV Merit Scholarship, where the meritorious students will be fully funded for the entire duration of their UG programmes
The registrar of VIT, Dr. Jagadish Chandra Muduganti stated that the PG Merit Scholarship aims to provide 100 per cent funding to students who have scored more than 90 per cent or have got a CGPA of 9.0 or more in the final exams and 50 per cent funding for students who have scored more than 80 per cent or have got a score of 8.0 or more in the concluding exams to candidates across the country.
