- The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) declared a holiday in view of the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama Project in Puri
As per a BPUT notification, the University, its constituted/affiliated colleges and the Centre for UG & PG Studies (CUPGS) would be remaining closed on Wednesday. The announcement came after the Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management department asked all the State government offices as well as the Revenue and Magisterial courts to remain closed on January 17 for the same.
Following the closure of colleges, the exams scheduled for Wednesday have also been rescheduled. According to another BPUT notification, the 2nd and 3rd phase Odd Semester (Regular/Back) Offline Examinations-2023-24 have been rescheduled. All the exams scheduled for January 17 have been rescheduled for January 21.
The ‘Purnahuti’ of the ongoing Maha Yajna preceding the inauguration of the Srimandir Parikrama Project in Puri will end on January 17, where Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would be inaugurating the project on January 17 between 1.15 pm and 1.30 pm.
