Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam, for the third consecutive year managed to get 100 per cent summer placements for its participating students of its third batch (PGP, 2017-19). Around 62 students in the batch, 61 received summer internship offers with stipends while one student opted for a research internship. On 9 Feb, the summer placement season for the third batch concluded. The process culminated 49 internship offers for the students. Almost 12 students from IIM-V secured internship offers from IIM Bangalore summer placement process.
Students also got internship offers from the government sector organisations. The Government of Andhra Pradesh recruited interns for their prestigious summer fellowship programme for the Commissionerate of Collegiate Education. NISG, incorporated by the Government of India and NASSCOM, recruited students for their e-governance initiative. Public sector undertaking HPCL also hired students for their operations domain.
Commenting on the season, Professor Ganesh Prabhu, Chairperson, Career Development Services, IIM Visakhapatnam, said, “IIM-V has seen high recruiter interest this year for summer internships due to the stellar job performance of its first batch as well as the good internship performance of the second batch resulting in many pre-placement offers. We look forward to the summer interns of the third batch contributing to the companies that recruited them and securing pre-placement offers.”

Chandrasekhar, Director, IIM-V, said, “That the Institute has already achieved 100 per cent summer placements in early Feb. itself for the internships beginning April is a reinforcement of the Institute’s position as a preferred destination for talent by the government and business alike. It is also a reflection of the world-class teaching being imparted by mentor IIM Bangalore, excellent initiative and facilitation by the entire Career Development Services team and strong learning outcomes demonstrated by our students.”
