Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ‘Fit India’ Movement’ on National Sports Day with a vision to motivate people towards physical activities and sports.
As per ICAR (Indian Council of Medical Research) less than 10% of the Indians are engaged in recreational physical activity.
Also in 120 Cr Indian population, about 13.5 Cr suffer from obesity, and 7.2 Cr from diabetes, 4.2 Cr from Thyroid disorders and 8 Cr from hypertension.
This lifestyle based diseases needs immediate action. This can be effectively mitigated through the daily-based actions like walking, jogging, swimming, skipping, yoga and more.
