Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Bhopal has finally been appointed a new Director, Professor Govardhan Das. Earlier he was a professor and chair for the Special Centre for Molecular Medicine at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Dr Das is a PhD in Immunology from the Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh.
He is closely related to reputed associations such as Molecular Immunology Forum and Guha Research Council. IISER is one of the premiere institutes in India that offers research based education all over India. It has several branches spread across the country. In TIMES HIGHER EDUCATION 2021 world ranking, IISER Bhopal ranked 26th. With Dr Das’ appointment, IISER, Bhopal welcomes its third director. The institute was built in 2008 and has been known for its excellent research and contribution to science.
