A new engineering course- BTech in Computer Science and Business Systems is going to be introduced by Tata Consultancy Services, at the Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology. The course will be initiated from the upcoming academic year.
TCS will introduce the course as a pilot programme in four colleges across the country and has applied to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for its approval. The course will be started in one college each in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Maharashtra. The fourth location is yet to be decided upon.
Ranjan Bandyopadhyay, global vice-president, human resources, TCS, said that,
“The course will have subjects on the latest technologies such as big data, design thinking and machine learning. TCS will train faculty members and if there is no one competent to teach the subjects, our experts will handle them.”
He added that the course would focus on management and soft skills, and would be evaluated by the firm.
