National Institute of Design has invited applications for admission to the two-and-a-half year long Master of Design (M.Des.).
The courses are available in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru and Gandhinagar.
Eligibility
Indian National applicants of general and General Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) should have been born on or after 1 July 1990.
OBC-NCL, SC & ST categories born on or after 1 July 1987 and PwD Reserved Category, born on or after 1 July 1985 are eligible for admission.
Educational Qualification
Applicant must hold one of the following
(i) Bachelor degree of minimum 4-year duration in any specialization, after 12th Standard/equivalent, from any university or institute recognized by law in India. Applicant must have passed Bachelor degree examination at the time of document verification tentatively fixed in April/May 2020 and or
(ii) Bachelor degree of minimum 3-year duration in any specialization, after 12th standard/equivalent. Applicant should have passed the Degree examination before June 2019 or
(iii) Full-time Diploma of minimum 4-year duration in Design/Fine Arts/Applied Arts/ Architecture, after 12th standard/equivalent from any university or institute recognized by law in India. Applicants must have passed the Diploma examination at the time of document verification tentatively fixed in April/May 2020.
In case the degree/certificate has been obtained from a university/board of any country other than India, an equivalence certificate must be obtained by the candidate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi (www.aiu.ac.in), at the time of document verification tentatively fixed in April/May 2020.
Design Aptitude Test (DAT): Admission will be on the basis of the two-stage Design Aptitude Test that will have DAT Prelims and DAT Mains. DAT Prelims will be held on December 29, 2019 (Sunday) and will have a paper carrying 100 marks and comprising of a Common Design Aptitude Test and a discipline-specific test to assess the Design Aptitude of the candidate. It will have both objective and subjective tests.
The question paper will be in English only.
