Azim Premji University announced its M.Ed. Programme (Master of Education) for the academic year 2018-20 on May 3. This approved M.Ed. the programme intends to develop holistic teachers and educators with an in-depth disciplinary knowledge along with critical and analytical abilities. It is a full-time programme based at Bangalore.
The programme consists of core courses, electives (Disciplinary areas and Advanced educational studies), workshop courses and a compulsory dissertation. The disciplinary focus will be Science and Mathematics Education. Students will have field engagement in all the semesters. Members of our faculty are accomplished academicians, teacher educators, researchers, teachers and agents of social transformation.

They will be equipped to become capable Teacher Educators who can also work as curriculum specialists, policymakers, administrators, and researchers”
An undergraduate in Sciences/ Mathematics/Engineering with at least 50% marks or equivalent is eligible for the programme. Another prerequisite involves an education degree in teaching with at least 50% marks or equivalent in B.Ed., B.Sc, B.Ed or B.El.Ed. (with optional Mathematics/ Science). Students with D.El.Ed and an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each) are also eligible for this programme. Relevant school teaching experience and/or a Master’s degree in Science/Mathematics will be an added advantage.
Candidates will be chosen on the basis of a written test and personal interview would be conducted for shortlisted candidates. Applications for admissions close on May 15, 2018, followed by an entrance test on May 27, 2018 and interviews thereafter. The academic session starts in July 2018.
