Medical Council of India (MCI) implements a combined exam for med students. With this notification, the upcoming exam of Foreign Medical Graduates Test (FMGT) in June has been cancelled.
According to the notification, exit exams will be held every year in July. This exam will be of 300 marks; 127 is the pass mark and students must obtain a minimum of 150 marks.
Students of foreign medical colleges who get between 127 and 150 marks will have to undergo six months of internship in rural areas. Students who score above 245 can apply for NEET PG without appearing for the test, the MCI said.
A standard test will allow graduates to appear in an exit exam and also to move ahead for further education abroad.
