- Turnitin to host eminent personalities from the Indian education sector to strengthen academic integrity practices in higher learning institutions
Turnitin, a leading provider of academic integrity and assessment solutions, will be organising its Annual Conference – East Indian Chapter at The Park Hotel, Kolkata on June 11, 2022. The conference, themed Fostering Integrity in the Indian Education Landscape, will focus on the evolution of academic integrity and the importance of upholding it in today’s era to strengthen life-long learning and academic reputation of higher learning institutions.
Indian education is fast moving into the hybrid approach to learning. The challenge confronting higher learning institutions today is the ability to equip educators with suitable technology to create an effective hybrid learning environment and empower students to do their best, original work.
- A report published by PwC and the Confederation of Indian Industry in September 2021, titled “Re-envisioning higher education through digital adoption”, stressed that while the hybrid learning model is the way forward, 64% of higher learning institutions continue to face difficulties in adopting digital technologies mainly due to the lack of holistic solutions that can be efficiently integrated with their existing roles.
Turnitin has helped advance academic integrity and outcomes for 40 million students at all educational levels in 15,000 institutions across 140 countries. Turnitin has been present in India for more than a decade and has constantly championed the need to establish a culture of academic integrity in higher learning institutions for educators to promote the value of original thinking skills in students.
Taking place at The Park Hotel in Kolkata, more than 100 distinguished personalities from the Indian education sector including Professor Ashis Kumaar Chattopadhyay, Pro Vice-Chancellor at Calcutta University, Dr Chiranjib Bhattacharjee,Pro Vice-Chancellor at Jadavpur University and Dr Basab Chaudhuri, Senior Director at Heritage Group will be participating in panel discussions centred around understanding the importance of academic integrity and exploring the benefits of technology to promote honesty, consistency, and fairness across all areas of education.
“We are honoured to be hosting this event where eminent personalities can share their thoughts and expertise on how we can further enhance our education system in today’s new learning landscape.
