MHRD or Ministry of Human Resource Development which is responsible for the overall development of Higher Education Sector has several ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Initiatives that encourage students to undergo e-learning at ease.
SVAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds) is an MHRD’s online education platform that hosts about 1900 courses covering both school (classes 9th to 12th) and higher education (UG & PG) in all subjects including Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences, Law and Management Courses.
A unique feature of SWAYAM is that it is integrated with the conventional education. Credit Transfers are possible with SWAYAM courses. (max 20%)
The national coordinators of SWAYAM include the likes of AICTE, CEC, IGNOU, IIMB, NCERT, NIOS, NPTEL, NITTTR and UGC.

How to enroll for SWAYAM courses?
- Visit: swayam.gov.in/explorer
- One will see two options – Upcoming courses and Ongoing courses
- Enrollment for the upcoming courses is open for candidates.
- Click on the desired course that you wish to pursue
- Click on JOIN option “JOIN” for each course. Click on it.
