Education survey of India 2018 reveals only 0.93% of Indian students attending law schools for higher education as compared to 23.6% who attend engineering and medical colleges.
As such, to improvise the scenario, GEV Memorial Merit Scholarship 2019 for Law Students – Program envisions supporting the studies of students in the field of legal education.
Program Structure
The program is designed to assist students in becoming not only benefactors but also philanthropists to support future students. The scholarship award is provided with a condition that the selected scholars will train and mentor the next batch of GEV Scholars.
Academic Eligibility Criteria
- Students who are pursuing law studies in the first year of L.L.B./L.L.M. degree courses or are preparing to apply for various entrance examinations like CLAT, LSAT-India, AILET etc. in the year 2019 are eligible to apply.
- Each applicant applying for this scholarship must have scored at least 60% marks in Class 10 and 12 Board Exams.
Financial Eligibility Criteria
As the scholarship is also focusing on the financially underprivileged students, applicants must also have a family income below INR 10,00,000 (10 Lakhs).
Scholarship Award Details
The scholarship offers financial assistance worth INR 50000 to INR 200000 per scholar every year for tuition fees. Each GEV Law scholar will get exclusive exposure to the elite judiciary communities of India.
