JNU is accepting applications from foreign students for the upcoming academic year -

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is accepting applications from international students for undergraduate (UG) programs for the upcoming academic year. Importantly, international applicants do not need to take the Common Universities Entrance Test CUET (UG) 2024. The deadline for applications is April 26th,2024.

The official notice stated that interested Foreign National candidates may apply from their respected countries. There is a separate application form for them which can be downloaded from the official website of the university. A university representative mentioned that foreign nationals residing in India must take part in the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET) 2024.

The university offers around 10 undergraduate and 34 postgraduate courses, a total of 342 undergraduate and 1,025 postgraduate seats across different schools and disciplines. JNU facilitates admissions for undergraduate and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programs, including BA (Honors) in Foreign Languages, BSc Program in Ayurveda Biology, and Certificate of Proficiency programs for the academic session 2024-25.

Applicants can obtain the Application Form from the University’s website, www.jnu.ac.in, or through the direct link: https://www.jnu.ac.in/Admission/International. They should then submit the completed application form along with all necessary documents, as specified in the form, by post to “Section Officer (Admission-II), Room No. 20, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi-110067”.

The application form must be filled out in block letters only, with no alterations or corrections, forms that are illegible will not be accepted.

Candidates must pay a processing fee of US Dollar $42.00 via NEFT to the University Account No. 31694564171, OR submit a Bank Draft of US Dollar $42.00 (inclusive of GST) or its equivalent in Indian currency, i.e., Rs 3486, made payable to “Jawaharlal Nehru University,” payable at New Delhi. During the payment transaction, the candidate must provide their Name, Country, and Program details.

Admissions to the undergraduate programs at the School of Language, Literature & Cultural Studies and the School of Sanskrit & Indian Studies for the academic year 2024, are initiated through the Common Universities Entrance Test (CUET UG) 2024.

In the National Institutional Ranking Framework Survey 2023, JNU maintained its position as the second-ranked university for the second consecutive year, securing the 10th spot overall with a score of 68.92. Recognized globally as a center of excellence for research and education, Jawaharlal Nehru University continues to uphold its esteemed reputation.

JNU was ranked third by the National Institutional Ranking Framework of the Government of India in 2016, followed by a second-place rating in 2017. Moreover, JNU achieved the top rank in the country from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), attaining an impressive Grade Point Average of 3.91 out of 4.

Additionally, acknowledging its outstanding performance, JNU received the esteemed 2017 Best University Award from the President of India.
