New Delhi, November, 2022: A week-long faculty development program on “Fundamentals of Content Creation for Virtual Reality Environment using Unity” was recently conducted by the Academic Staff College of KL Deemed to be University. The program was conducted as a part of the Virtual Reality Lab established in the KL Deemed to be University. Dr. Jagannatha Rao, Pro-Chancellor, KL Deemed to be University inaugurated the session and addressed the participants on the importance of the program in enhancing the teaching-learning process.
Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality related technologies will make learning more interactive and engaging for the students. The participants of the event gained exposure to the fundamentals of C Sharp language and the effective use of Unity Software for creating an immersive learning experience that would boost their knowledge and skills. The participants learnt how to create 2D / 3D objects, interaction with objects and related programming aspects under the guidance of the trainer.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. G. Pardha Saradhi Varma, Vice Chancellor, KL Deemed to be University said, “It is very important to remain ahead of the curve, especially in the field of IT. He further added that the current job market is very competitive in nature and only the best can get hold of the best of the jobs. Besides the knowledge trends, the teachers at KL Deemed to be University also follow the trend in the job market to ensure that the students are being provided with what the job market demands.
The participating faculty also opined that the training was a great exposure that helped in learning the new trends and modes of making immersive learning experience and gamification. Principal Academic Staff College and Dean Academics, Dr. Raghuveer, VR said that this training is a strategic attempt to enhance the skills of the teachers and students in content designing and game development for which there is a lot of demand in the global job market. He hoped to take KL Deemed to be University into the Metaverse platform soon to enable learners from across the world to learn together with the students of the University.
