As per the request of the Odisha state Government, the NEET PG 2019 exam for the Odisha candidates has been postponed. Odisha is currently under the hurl of cyclone ‘Fani’ due to which the Government has requested the NEET PG 2019 exam to be postponed.
The National Testing Agency responsible for conducting NEET PG exam issued a notice for the same. The notice reads “On the request of the State Government of Odisha in the wake of Fani Cyclone, the NEET (UG) – 2019 Examination, which was scheduled to be held on 05.05.2019 (Sunday), has been postponed only for the Candidates having Examination Centres in Odisha until further notice. The new date for for these candidates will be announced soon.”
Higher Education Secretary, R. Subrahmanyam, said that NEET PG 2019 exam has been postponed on the request of the state Government working for rehabilitation and relief and the revised dates will be announced for the candidates soon.
The severe cyclonic storm ‘Fani’ made landfall around 8 am in Puri, with roaring winds flattening huts, enveloping the pilgrim town in sheets of rain, and submerging homes in residential areas. The cyclone rolled through Odisha on Friday, packing rain and windstorm that gusted up to 175 kmph, leaving at least three people dead, blowing away thatched houses, and swamping towns and villages.
