According to PTI, Amitabh Kant, the current CEO of Niti Aayog has got a two-year extension to continue on the same position.
As per reports, his current term was to conclude on 30 June.
However, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of Kant’s tenure for a further period of two years beyond 30 June, i.e. till 30 June 2021.
It is to be noted that the terms and conditions shall be the same,.
Kant, is a 1980 batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, took charge as the first full-time CEO of National Institution for Transforming India (NITI) Aayog on 17 February 2016.
