The computer-based examination for the selection of direct entry officers will be conducted by the Indian Navy. In the month of September 2019, across various centres in the country, the first Indian Navy Entrance Test (Officers) will be conducted. Other than those that are screened by UPSC or University Entry Scheme, this Indian Navy Entrance Test (Officers), i.e. INET (Officers) will be used for screening for Permanent Commission & Short Service Commission Officer candidates for all graduate entries.
Till now, by Services Selection Board (SSB) on the basis of marks scored in graduation (or post-graduation for certain entries), officer candidates are shortlisted for interviews. From now onwards, shortlisting for SSB is going to be taken on the basis of marks scored in INET (Officers).
From now on, under the new process, only one advertisement will be published every six months. The applicants are needed to exercise their option for entries that they wish to be considered for, on the basis of their educational qualification. The details of entries, age & educational qualifications are available on joinindiannavy.gov.in.
There are four sections in the INET (Officers) exam and they are: English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Science & Mathematical Aptitude, and General Knowledge. The candidates have to pass in each section to be considered for SSB call up.
