“Social listening helps you to get actionable insights to build your brands” said Mr. Ram Bhamidi , Co-founder & CEO, Radarr.com at the 73rd WiseViews Leadership Conversations webinar series conducted by ICFAI on September, 23rd 2022. Mr. Ram Bhamidi delivered a talk on the topic “Your Customers are talking about you on social media, Are you listening?”.
Mr. Ram gave a detailed explanation about the evolution of social media and its impact on the brand building. “The social media emerged 20 yrs back and in the last 6 yrs it has become very powerful”, stated Mr. Ram. “There are 4.55 billion users as on today out of the 8 billion population of the world which gives you a glance of the rapid growth of social media users”, he said. “More number of regional social media platforms are evolving as well to connect with the customers”, he added. According to Mr. Ram, 400 + new users are adding up on daily basis to the ever growing list and about 4 billion messages are coming out each day. “Most of those messages are related to companies and various brands”, he said.
Mr. Ram further stated that many positive actionable insights rise out of social listening like crisis detection and prevention, engage in ‘human’ conversations with customers, reviews about the product and the service provided, follow up with the company social media platforms for important updates, real-time market trends, career opportunities for the aspirants and more.
“Social listening helps you to track the development of the product and one can get to know what consumers are thinking about that. Based on that opinion, amends can be made to win their confidence and reach out to more customers” said Mr. Ram. He gave the example of Netflix who used this social listening medium to address the needs of the customers and they have set-up a dedicated team to connect with them on a regular basis.
Answering to a query in the Q & A session, Mr. Ram stated that “social listening can be done manually by browsing various sites and social media platforms or one can hire the services of a professional agency that can help the companies to track, analyze and suggest improvements to build their brand”.
