SRM University-AP, Amaravati, organized a two day international conference on ‘Transformations in Engineering Education’. Nara Lokesh, Minister for IT, Panchayatraj, Rural Development at Government of Andhra Pradesh inaugurated the conference in the presence of leading academicians in Engineering education across the world.
Speaking on the occasion, Nara Lokesh, advised the students ‘to develop innovative thinking to grab the future opportunities in the 21st century and also to become a employment provider instead of merely a job seeker’. He added that in the future, around 35% of world’s work force would come from India and India plays a great role in future by providing technical experts to the world.
Kollu Ravindra, Minister for Youth Services and Skill Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh, also spoke on the occasion and announced that to provide better opportunities in IT Sector, the AP Skill Development Corporation is organizing training for the youth on Gaming with the support of SRM University
Dr TR Parivendhar, Founder Chancellor of SRM University, IUCEE Executive Director Krishna Veduala, APSSDC Executive Director Ghanta Subba Rao, SRM University President Dr P. Sathyanarayanan, Prof. D Narayana Rao, Pro- Vice Chancellor, SRM University – AP, Amaravati, were amongst the 450 leading academicians who took part in the conference.
The International Conference on Transformations in Engineering Education (ICTIEE AP’ 18) connects engineering educators from all over Andhra Pradesh with leaders from across the world as well as from industry. Participants were able to share best practices and thereby learn and transform their own institutional efforts to prepare engineering graduates who can address the challenges of industrial growth in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The focus was on assisting the students to develop skills required to make them employable, to make them leaders and to make them entrepreneurs.
ICTIEE-AP 2018 was hosted at SRM University, Amaravati and supported by Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation in order to maximize its impact among institutions all over Andhra Pradesh. The conference included keynote sessions, panel discussions and workshops by experts from around the world. An important part of the conference was presentations by engineering faculty who have already gained some experience in transforming their own curriculum, classrooms and programs.
