The AICTE Chairman Anil D Sahasrabudhe while addressing the audience at the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research’s 51st Annual Day, highlighted on the need to provide students with a forum where they can convert their progressive and inspiring ideas into action.
“There is a need to bring students into startup culture and to provide them a platform where they can convert their bright ideas into innovation,” said Anil Sahadrabudhe.
The Annual Day was held on 7th September, 2018 at the NITTTR campus in Chandigarh. Exaggerating on the role of AICTE in the overall development of the students, the chairman was quoted saying that the role of AICTE is of a facilitator and not just of a regulator.
Sahasrabudhe also pointed out on unemployment and lack of resources as the major challenges that can be curbed with by focusing on startups. The chairman also said that to start with AICTE has come up with its own policy on startups, with the help of which universities and colleges can start entrepreneurship courses along with the their normal courses.
“We should create a support system for students, including more internship or skill programme, to hone their skills,” he said.
During his speech he also appreciated National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research for the innovations and initiatives taken by them and also assured the support of the AICTE.
