The Delhi School of Communication hosted its Annual Convocation’18 on April 14, 2018 for PGDPC degree conferral ceremony. The chief guest, Pinaki Bhattacharya, Sr VP, National Planning Director, J Walter Thompson, along with Dean Prof. Ramola Kumar awarded the degrees and medals to the entitled students and wished good luck for their career advancement. Managing Director of Edelman India, Rakesh Thukral also graced the event with his presence as Guest of honor.
On the successful completion of Post Graduate Programme in Communication (PGDPC), scholars were congratulated and appreciated by industry veterans and dignitaries such as Prof. Dharam Arora, Director of The Source, Prof. Pradeep Aeri, Director of Aeri Creatives, Prof. Manish Purohit, Director of Authorsupfront, Prof. Harish Singh, Director of KAMAAN, Saket Pathak, Director of Realty Myths, Anil Shankar, Associate Vice President of Zenith Optimedia, Samil Malhotra, and Saurabh Padhi, Director of Merry GO Round Entertainment for successfully winning their degrees.
In the ceremony, students were duly provided with the degree certificates of PGDPC XXII programme. DSC’s PGDPC XXII is a two-year course in which students are given a formal education and professional training in all fields of mass communication; Digital Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Entertainment, and Branding.
Observing that students are entering the communications workforce in very interesting times, Pinaki Bhattacharya highlighted the disruption happening today in the business and communication scenario. He said,
“Technology is changing how consumers or audiences access and consume information. To navigate this rapidly evolving world of communications, one has to make sure that one never stops learning”.
His advice to students was –
“You have to be constantly ‘curious’. You will need a new work style which is more ‘collaborative’- because, with rapidly changing technologies, the only way to be on top of things is to keep working closely with different tech domain experts, because only one person cannot know it all. And you need to be ‘courageous’. Embracing the new, doing the never- done- before, is not for the meek. It requires courage and gumption.”
Prof. Ramola Kumar, Dean at DSC, closes the ceremony with a thank you note, saying,
“At this proud moment, I heartily congratulate all the students for completing the very first phase of their academic journey. And, thanks to our entire team that works closely with students with utmost conviction and commitment in accomplishing their goals. At DSC, we always brainstorm on innovative methodology, techniques, and internship programmes so that our students learn a million dollar worth knowledge of both professional life and personal development.”
“The communications industry has a fast-paced environment and companies are looking for only the fittest ones. We prepare our students to survive the stringent competition and make it up to a successful future through PGDPC course which opens hundreds of career and growth opportunities for them,” she further added.
